Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa melalui penerapan model problem based learning (pbl) di smp negeri 3 banda aceh. pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah mixed method dengan explanatory sequential design. pemilihan subjek dilakukan secara purposive sampling yaitu kelas vii-8 sebagai subjek tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. subjek wawancara dipilih secara purposive yaitu beberapa siswa yang memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada kategori baik sekali, baik, cukup, kurang dan kurang sekali. berdasarkan data yang telah dianalisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat 25.81% subjek yang masuk dalam katagori baik sekali, 29.03% subjek yang masuk dalam katagori baik, 12.9% yang masuk dalam katagori cukup, 16.13% yang masuk dalam katagori kurang, dan 16.13% yang masuk dalam katagori kurang sekali. siswa yang masuk kategori i dalam menyelesaikan soal yaitu sebanyak 5 orang atau sekitar 16,13%, siswa yang masuk dalam kategori ii sebanyak 9 orang atau sekitar 29%, siswa yang masuk kedalam kategori iii sebanyak 3 orang atau sekitar 9,7%, siswa yang masuk kedalam kategori iv sebanyak 2 orang atau sekitar 6,45%, siswa yang masuk kedalam kategori v sebanyak 2 orang atau sekitar 6,45%, siswa yang masuk kedalam kategori vi sebanyak 8 orang atau sekitar 25,8% dan siswa yang masuk kedalam kategori vii sebanyak 2 orang atau sekitar 6,45%. secara keseluruhan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa berada pada katagori baik. pemilihan model pembelajaran yang membiasakan siswa untuk memecahkan masalah dan terlibat aktif dalam belajar sangat diperlukan. kata kunci: kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, problem based learning (pbl), aritmatika sosial.



Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the description of the problem solving ability students' mathematical problems through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model at SMP Negeri 3 Banda Aceh. The research approach used is Mixed Method with Explanatory Sequential Design. Subject selection is done by Purposive Sampling, namely class VII-8 as the subject of the solving ability test student problems. The interview subjects were selected purposively, namely several students who have problem-solving skills in the very good, good, enough, less and less. Based on the data that has been analyzed, it can be concluded that there were 25.81% of the subjects included in the very good category, 29.03% of subjects that fall into the good category, 12.9% who fall into the category sufficient, 16.13% are included in the poor category, and 16.13% are included in the very less category. Students who fall into category I in solving problems are as many as 5 people or about 16.13%, students who fall into category II are 9 people or about 29%, students who fall into category III are 3 people or about 9.7%, students who fall into category IV as many as 2 people or about 6.45%, students who fall into category V as many as 2 people or about 6.45%, students who fall into category VI are 8 people or about 25.8% and students who fall into category VII as many as 2 people or about 6.45%. Overall students' mathematical problem solving abilities are at good category. Selection of learning models that familiarize students with Solving problems and being actively involved in learning is very necessary.
