Tanaman kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam.) merupakan salah satu tanaman yang banyak tumbuh di Provinsi Aceh dan hanya digunakan sebagai bahan makanan. Penelitian membuktikan bahwa tanaman kelor memiliki banyak aktivitas farmakologi, salah satunya sebagai antioksidan. Senyawa metabolit sekunder yang diduga memiliki aktivitas antioksidan adalah senyawa fenolik golongan flavonoid. Masker gel peel off merupakan salah satu bentuk sediaan kosmetik yang dapat meningkatkan penetrasi zat aktif, menjaga kelembaban kulit, merawat dan memperbaiki permasalahan kulit khususnya kulit wajah seperti kerutan, jerawat dan mengecilkan pori. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol daun kelor dan memformulasikannya menjadi sediaan masker gel peel off. Berdasarkan hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH, ekstrak etanol daun kelor memiliki aktivitas antioksidan kategori sangat kuat, yaitu 9,080 µg/mL. Konsentrasi Polivinil Alkohol yang digunakan dalam formulasi yaitu 14%, karena memiliki sifat adhesi yang baik dan membentuk lapisan film yang elastis. Hasil evaluasi sediaan masker gel peel off ekstrak etanol daun kelor memenuhi semua kriteria evaluasi. Hasil uji iritasi sediaan tidak menunjukkan adanya tanda-tanda iritasi sehingga sediaan masker gel peel off yang dihasilkan relatif aman digunakan. Hasil uji kesukaan menunjukkan bahwa sediaan masker gel peel off yang dihasilkan memiliki bentuk yang cukup disukai, warna yang disukai namun memiliki aroma yang kurang disukai. Oleh karena itu, ekstrak etanol daun kelor dapat diformulasikan menjadi bentuk sediaan masker gel peel off yang berpotensi sebagai antioksidan alami.

ABSTRACT Moringa oleifera Lam. is one of the most widely grown plants in Aceh Province and is only used as food. Research proves that Moringa has many pharmacological activities, one of which is as an antioxidant. Secondary metabolite compounds that are thought to have antioxidant activity are phenolic compounds belonging to the flavonoid group. Peel off gel mask is a cosmetic dosage form that can increase the penetration of active substances, maintain skin moisture, treat and improve skin problems, especially facial skin such as wrinkles, acne and shrink pores. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of Moringa leaves and to formulate it into a peel off gel mask preparation. Based on the results of the antioxidant activity test using the DPPH method, the ethanolic extract of Moringa leaves has a very strong category of antioxidant activity, namely 9.080 g/mL. The concentration of Polyvinyl Alcohol used in the formulation is 14%, because it has good adhesion properties and forms an elastic film. The results of the evaluation of the peel off gel mask preparation of Moringa leaf ethanol extract met all the evaluation criteria. The results of the irritation test of the preparation did not show any signs of irritation so that the peel off gel mask preparation produced was relatively safe to use. The results of the preference test showed that the peel off gel mask preparation produced had a fairly favorable shape, a preferred color, but a less favorable aroma. Therefore, the ethanol extract of Moringa leaves can be formulated into a peel off gel mask dosage form which has the potential as a natural antioxidant.
