Title :The Application of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) in Teaching Speaking Skill for Junior High School
The objective of this study is to look at some given theories and/or research on the use of STAD technique for teaching speaking skill. The discussion of the approach is focused on a STAD technique as the technique should be used in teaching speaking skill to young learners. The study found that STAD technique is very suitable method for young learners because it can make them enjoy, fun, and absence of the stress in learning process. It is also very memorable. Teaching speaking by using STAD technique is one of active learning technique will give positive impact to the success of teaching. It is also found that the students are highly motivated and pleased to learn the language by using this technique in teaching speaking aspect of language. The method used in this study is library research. Based on the research findings and experts’ statements, it is found that STAD technique is effective to enhance the students’ speaking skill. This study is expected to be useful for other English teachers.
