Title : Teaching Writing by Using Graphic Organizer Technique for The First Grade Students’ of MAN Rukoh Banda Aceh

This research intended to find out whether Graphic Organizer technique improved students’ writing skill or not. This research was conducted at MAN Rukoh Banda Aceh. The Sample was taken by random sampling. This study approached quantitatively through an experimental method, specificially one group pre-test-post-test design. This study focused on in improving students’ writing skill in composing recount text in the aspect of content, organization, vocabulary, language use and mechanics. The instrument used to collect the data in this study was a test. The technique of data analysis, the writer used statistical formula. The mean score of pre-test was (66) and the post-test was (77). The finding showed that the improvement of the mean was 11. The critical value of 0.05 significant level was (1.73) and degree of freedom was 18. T-test 3.83 was higher than t-table (1.73). As a result, Graphic Organizer technique improved students’ writing skill in recount text particularly at the first grade students’ of MAN Rukoh Banda Aceh.Therefore, it is suggested to use graphic organizer as a technique in teaching writing .
