Rambut merupakan salah satu organ penting dalam tubuh yang berfungsi sebagai pelindung dan berpengaruh pada segi estetika. Kerontokan rambut sering menjadi masalah di kalangan pria dan wanita karena dapat menyebabkan kebotakan. Ekstrak cascara pulp kopi arabika Gayo dan nilam Aceh merupakan salah satu tanaman dengan kandungan antioksidan tinggi dan dapat digunakan sebagai herbal penumbuh rambut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh krim kombinasi ekstrak cascara pulp kopi arabika Gayo dan nilam Aceh terhadap pertumbuhan panjang rambut dan diameter folikel rambut pada tikus yang dipapar sinar UVB. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan rancangan randomized post test only. Tiga puluh ekor tikus putih dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok berbeda yaitu kelompok tanpa pemberian krim (kontrol normal), krim vitamin C 10% (kontrol positif), krim kombinasi ekstrak cascara pulp kopi arabika Gayo dan nilam Aceh 1% dengan konsentrasi 10% (P1), 12,5% (P2) dan 15% (P3). Parameter yang diamati adalah pertumbuhan panjang rambut dan diameter folikel rambut tikus pada minggu ke-6. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan rambut terpanjang didapatkan pada kelompok P3 yaitu 2,75 cm. Sedangkan diameter folikel rambut terbesar terdapat pada kelompok P1 dengan diameter 41,07 µm. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian variasi konsentrasi krim kombinasi ekstrak cascara pulp kopi arabika Gayo dan nilam Aceh 1% berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan panjang rambut dan diameter folikel rambut tikus putih yang dipapar sinar UVB.

Hair is one of the important organs in the body that functions as a protector and affects the aesthetic side. Hair loss is often a problem both men and women because it progress to alopecia. Arabica Gayo coffee cascara pulp and Aceh patchouli are one of the plants that have high antioxidant content and can be used as hair growth plants. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of a combination cream of arabica Gayo coffee cascara pulp extract and Aceh patchouli on hair length growth and hair follicle diameter in rat’s exposed to UVB rays. This research is experimental research with randomized post test only design. Thirty white rat’s were divided into 5 different groups: the group without cream (normal control), 10% vitamin C cream (positive control), combination cream of arabica Gayo coffee cascara pulp extract and Aceh patchouli 1% with concentrations of 10% (P1), 12.5% (P2) and 15% (P3). The parameters observed were hair length growth and hair follicle diameter of rat's for 6 weeks. The measurement results showed that the longest hair growth was obtained in the P3 group, which was 2.75 cm. While the largest hair follicle diameter was found in group P1 with a diameter of 41.07 µm. It can be concluded that the application of various concentrations of combination cream of arabica Gayo coffee cascara pulp extract and Aceh patchouli 1% has an effect on hair length growth and hair follicle diameter of white rats exposed to UVB rays.
