Kosakata sangat penting dalam bahasa Inggris dan penting bagi pembelajar karena merupakan fondasi kemampuan bahasa Inggris seseorang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan aplikasi Quizizz meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata di kelas satu SMAN 7 Banda Aceh atau tidak. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain pra-eksperimental. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan satu kelas siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan mengambil 30 siswa kelas X-IPAS-9 sebagai sampel. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan pre-test dan post-test. SPSS 26 digunakan untuk menganalisis data secara statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara pre-test dan post-test. Nilai rata-rata pre-test adalah 67,17, dan nilai rata-rata post-test adalah 83,90. Nilai post-test siswa lebih tinggi dibandingkan pre-test sehingga terdapat perbedaan penguasaan kosakata siswa antara sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan menggunakan aplikasi Quizizz. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis Ho ditolak dan teori Ha diterima. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi Quizizz dapat meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata siswa.

Vocabulary is crucial in English and essential for learners because it is a foundation of one’s English capability. This research aimed to find out whether the use of the Quizizz application improves vocabulary mastery at the first grade of SMAN 7 Banda Aceh or not. The method used quantitative research with a pre-experimental design. In this research, the researcher used one class of students as an experimental class and took 30 students from the X-IPAS-9 class as the sample. The data were collected by using pre-test and post-test. The SPSS 26 was used to analyze the data statistically. The result of this research revealed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test. The mean score of the pre-test was 67.17, and the mean score of the post-test was 83.90. The students’ scores of post-test was higher than pre-test, so there was a difference in students' vocabulary mastery between before and after treatment using the Quizizz application. It indicated that the Ho hypothesis was rejected, and the Ha theory was accepted. This result showed that the Quizizz application can improve students’ vocabulary mastery.
