Pengucapan memiliki peran penting dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Pengucapan siswa yang salah menyebabkan kesulitan dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh suatu fenomena yang terjadi di dalam kelas sehingga tujuan penelitian ini adalah penggunaan teknik pengeboran untuk meningkatkan pengucapan siswa di MTsS Darussyari’ah Banda Aceh. Populasinya adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX MTsS Darussyari'ah Banda Aceh yang berjumlah 28 siswa yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Instrumen makalah penelitian ini meliputi tes, khususnya pre-test dan post-test. Hasil post-test pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dengan nilai rata-rata 85,68 dibandingkan dengan nilai rata-rata pre-test sebesar 48,21. Berdasarkan temuan uji t diketahui bahwa uji t (15,468) signifikan secara statistik dibandingkan dengan t tabel (2,055), Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Ditemukan bahwa pengaruh nilai pre-test siswa telah meningkat. Selanjutnya pada tahun ajaran 2022/2023 terjadi peningkatan yang cukup besar pada pelafalan siswa sebelum dan sesudah diajar memanfaatkan Teknik Drilling dalam mengajar dan belajar Bahasa Inggris di MTsS Darussyari'ah Banda Aceh. Hasilnya, penerapan Teknik Pengeboran ke dalam pengajaran Bahasa Inggris dapat menjadi salah satu teknik alternatif yang digunakan oleh guru untuk meningkatkan pengucapan siswa.
Pronunciation has an important role in learning English. The wrong students’ pronunciation causes difficulty in learning English. This study was based on a phenomenon that occurred in the classroom so that the purpose of this research was the use of the drilling technique to improve the students’ pronunciation in MTsS Darussyari’ah Banda Aceh. The population consists of all students in class IX at MTsS Darussyari'ah Banda Aceh, a total of 28 students chosen by purposive sampling. The research paper's instrument included tests, specifically a pre-test and a post-test. The post-test result in the experimental class was higher, with a mean score of 85.68, than the pre-test mean score of 48.21. Based on the t-test findings, it was determined that the t-test (15.468) was statistically significant than the t-table (2.055), Ha was accepted, and Ho was rejected. It was discovered that the influence of the students pre-test scores had improved. Subsequently in the academic year 2022/2023, there is a considerable increase in students' pronunciation before and after being taught utilizing the Drilling Technique in teaching and studying English at MTsS Darussyari'ah Banda Aceh. As a result, implementing the Drilling Technique into the teaching of English can be one of the alternate techniques used by teachers to improve students' pronunciation.
