Literasi sains merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang menentukan kualitas pendidikan. Berdasarkan observasi yang dilakukan di SMA Negeri 3 Banda Aceh menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi sains siswa masih rendah, hal ini disebabkan karena beberapa hal salah satunya adalah penggunaan model pembelajaran sehingga peneliti menerapkan model kooperatif tipe jigsaw dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi sains siswa setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran tipe Jigsaw. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimen. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI A1-2 SMA Negeri 3 Banda Aceh terdiri dari 34 siswa. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui lembar keterlaksanaan model, tes literasi sains dan angket respon siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model jigsaw dapat membantu siswa dalam menemukan ide-ide baru (pengetahuan konten) secara bersama-sama atau berkelompok namun demikian kemampuan literasi sains siswa masih rendah, terutama pada aplikasi sains (proses sains) seperti menggunakan bukti ilmiah dan evaluasi isu ilmiah.

Science literacy is one of the abilities that determines the quality of education. Based on observations conducted at SMA Negeri 3 Banda Aceh, it is evident that students' science literacy skills are still low. This is due to several factors, one of which is the use of teaching models. As a result, the researchers applied the cooperative learning model called the Jigsaw method in their teaching. The aim of this study is to describe students' science literacy skills after implementing the Jigsaw learning model. The research adopted a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design. The subjects of the study were 34 students from class XI A1-2 at SMA Negeri 3 Banda Aceh. Data were collected through model implementation sheets, science literacy tests, and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the Jigsaw model helped students in collaboratively discovering new ideas (content knowledge). However, the students' science literacy skills remained low, especially in the application of science (scientific processes), such as using scientific evidence and evaluating scientific issues.
