Daun gandarusa (Justicia gendarussa) saat ini banyak diteliti untuk pengembangan senyawa antifertilitas. Namun, efek pemberian herbal tersebut terhadap konsentrasi testosteron masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun gandarusa terhadap penurunan konsentrasi testosteron pada kelinci jantan. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), terdiri atas tiga taraf perlakuan dengan tiga ulangan yaitu perlakuan P1 (kontrol, tidak diberikan ekstrak), kelompok P2 (200 mg/kg BB ekstrak daun gandarusa), dan P3 (300 mg/kg BB ekstrak daun gandarusa). Penelitian ini menggunakan sembilan ekor kelinci jantan, berumur 1-1,5 tahun, bobot badan 2,0-2,5 kg. Proses maserasi dilakukan dengan cara merendam serbuk simplisia dalam pelarut ethanol 70% di dalam maserator selama 72 jam. Pemberian ekstrak daun gandarausa dilakukan pada pukul 10.00 WIB setiap harinya secara oral menggunakan sonde lambung selama 52 hari. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji ragam (One Way ANOVA). Hasil analisis statistik konsentrasi testosteron pada P1 (1,63 ± 0,66 ng/ml), P2 (1,53 ± 0,51 ng/ml), dan P3 (1,84 ± 1,02 ng/ml) tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun gandarusa tidak berpengaruh terhadap penurunan konsentrasi testosteron. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa, ekstrak daun gandarusa tidak berpengaruh terhadap penurunan konsentrasi testosteron pada kelinci jantan.

Gandarusa leaves (Justicia gendarussa) are currently being widely studied for the development of antifertility compounds. However, the effect of these herbs on testosterone concentrations is still limited. This study aims to determine the effect of giving gandarusa leaf extract on decreasing testosterone concentrations in male rabbits. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD), consisted of three levels of treatment with three replications, namely treatment P1 (control, not given the extract), group P2 (200 mg/kg BW of gandarusa leaf extract), and P3 (300 mg/kg BW gandarusa leaf extract). This study used nine male rabbits, aged 1-1.5 years, body weight 2.0-2.5 kg. The maceration process was carried out by immersing the simplicia powder in 70% ethanol solvent in the maserator for 72 hours. Gandarausa leaf extract was administered at 10.00 WIB every day orally using a stomach tube for 52 days. Data were analyzed using a test of variance (One Way ANOVA). The results of statistical analysis of testosterone concentrations in P1 (1.63 ± 0.66 ng/ml), P2 (1.53 ± 0.51 ng/ml), and P3 (1.84 ± 1.02 ng/ml) did not significantly different (P>0.05). This shows that the administration of willow leaf extract has no effect on decreasing testosterone concentrations It can be concluded that gandausa leaf extract has no effect on decreasing testosterone concentrations in male rabbits.
