Indonesia merupakan negara tropis yang mendapatkan paparan sinar matahari tinggi sepanjang tahunnya. Radiasi ultraviolet berlebih dapat meningkatkan resiko penuaan dini pada kulit. Penggunaan kosmetika pada kulit wajah seperti face toner yang kaya antioksidan dapat membantu perlindungan kulit wajah dari luar terhadap pejanan sinar ultraviolet berlebih untuk mencegah photoaging. Minyak nilam memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai zat aktif dalam formulasi sediaan face toner. Konsumsi produk kosmetika halal mengalami kenaikan yang signifikan setiap tahun sehingga status kehalalan dari bahan yang digunakan dalam formulasi perlu diperhatikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan bahan yang telah dievaluasi status kehalalannya. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan minyak nilam menggunakan metode DPPH menunjukkan nilai IC50 sebesar 27,108 ppm dengan kategori sangat kuat. Konsentrasi minyak nilam yang digunakan dalam formulasi adalah F0 (0%), F1 (0,005%), dan F2 (0,008%). Hasil evaluasi uji organoleptik menunjukkan warna dan bentuk dari ketiga formula yaitu bening dan cair dengan aroma dari F0 dan F1 adalah aroma khas air mawar, sedangkan F2
beraroma khas minyak nilam. Hasil evaluasi homogenitas, volume terpindahkan, pH, dan stabilitas dari ketiga sediaan face toner telah memenuhi syarat mutu sediaan yang baik. Hasil evaluasi uji iritasi menunjukkan 30 orang responden tidak mengalami gejala iritasi. Hasil evaluasi uji hedonik menunjukkan F2 memiliki
tingkat kesukaan yang lebih tinggi, diukur dari parameter warna, tekstur dan rasa lembab dengan nilai interval berurut-urut, 4,306; 4,304; dan 4,382, sedangkan aroma, F0 dengan nilai 4,516 memiliki tingkat kesukaan yang lebih tinggi dibanding F1 dan F2. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan face toner menunjukkan nilai IC50 sebesar 175,77
ppm pada F0, nilai IC50 sebesar 101,80 ppm pada F1, dan nilai IC50 sebesar 90,13 ppm pada F2. Berdasarkan hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan sediaan face tonermenunjukkan formula F2 paling baik dengan kategori kuat.

Indonesia is a tropical country that receives high sun exposure throughout the year. Excessive ultraviolet radiation can increase the risk of premature aging of the skin. The use of cosmetics on facial skin such as antioxidant-rich face toners can help protect facial skin from external exposure to excess ultraviolet rays and prevent photoaging. Patchouli oil has very strong antioxidant activity so it can be used as an active substance in the formulation of face toner preparations. The consumption of halal cosmetic products has increased significantly every year so the halal status of the ingredients used in the formulation needs to be considered. This study uses ingredients that have been evaluated for their halal status. The results of the patchouli oil antioxidant activity test using the DPPH method showed an IC50 value of 27.108 ppm with a very strong category. The concentrations of patchouli oil used in the formulation were F0 (0%), F1 (0.005%), and F2 (0.008%). Organoleptic test evaluation results showed the color and shape of the three formulas were clear and liquid and the aromas of F0 and F1 were typical rose water aromas, while F2 had a typical patchouli oil aroma. The evaluation results of homogeneity, volume moved, pH, and stability of the three face toner preparations have met the requirements of good quality preparations. The results of the irritation test evaluation showed that 30 respondents did not experience symptoms of irritation. The hedonic test evaluation results showed that F2 had a higher level of liking, measured from the parameters of color, texture, and moist feeling with sequential interval values of 4.306, 4.306; 4.304; and 4.382, while the aroma, F0 with a value of 4.516 had a higher level of liking than F1 and F2. The results of the face toner antioxidant activity test showed an IC50 value of 175.77 ppm in F0, an IC50 value of 101.80 ppm in F1, and an IC50 value of 90.13 ppm in F2. Based on the results of the antioxidant activity test, the face toner preparation showed the best formula F2 with a strong category.
