Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan (1) prinsip kecerdasan ekologis tokoh dan (2) teknik penggambarannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif-deskriptif, dengan teknik analisis isi. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah antologi cerpen Macan (2021) yang diterbitkan oleh Kompas. Hasil penelitian ini, pertama, dalam antologi cerpen Macan terdapat tokoh yang memiliki prinsip kecerdasan ekologis prinsip jaringan, siklus, energi matahari, kemitraan, keanekaragaman, dan prinsip keseimbangan dinamis. Prinsip kecerdasan ekologis tersebut lebih dominan dideskripsikan oleh pengarang sudah pada tahap penerapan tokoh, kecuali prinsip energi matahari. Kedua, teknik pengarang menggambarkan kecerdasan ekologis tokoh dilakukan dengan dua teknik, yaitu teknik diskursif dan teknik dramatis (dominan digunakan). Pengarang tidak memanfaatkan latar cerita untuk menggambarkan kecerdasan ekologis tokoh karena pengarang tidak menerapkan teknik kontekstual. Teknik diskursif yang besifat ekonomis dan teknik dramatis yang bersifat kurang ekonomis tidak selalu terjadi dalam penggambaran kecerdasan ekologis tokoh dalam antologi cerpen Macan. Kesimpulannya, kecerdasan ekologis tokoh yang digambarkan dalam antologi cerpen Macan berdampak baik terhadap alam sehingga sangat penting bagi manusia memiliki kecerdasan ekologis guna menjaga serta melestarikan alam.
 

Keywords: ecological intelligence, characters, short story This study describes (1) the principles of ecological intelligence of the characters and (2) the depiction techniques. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive method, with content analysis techniques. The data source for this research is an anthology of short stories Macan (2021) published by Kompas. The results of this study are first, in an anthology of short stories Macan, there are figures who have the principles of ecological intelligence, the principles of network, cycle, solar energy, partnership, diversity, and the principle of dynamic balance. The principle of ecological intelligence is more dominantly described by the author at the character application stage, except for the principle of solar energy. Second, the author's technique of describing the ecological intelligence of a character is carried out using two techniques, namely the discursive technique and the dramatic technique (predominantly used). The author does not use the setting of the story to describe the character's ecological intelligence because the author does not apply contextual techniques. Discursive techniques that are economical and dramatic techniques that are less economical do not always occur in the depiction of the ecological intelligence of characters in short story anthologies Macan. The reason why the character has ecological intelligence is described in the short story anthology Macan is only because of material interests. In conclusion, the ecological intelligence of the characters described in the anthology of the short stories Macan has a good impact on nature so it is very important for humans to have ecological intelligence in order to protect and preserve nature.
