Self efficacy merupakan salah satu faktor rendahnya pemahaman matematis siswa di Indonesia. Self efficacy adalah kepercayaan diri akan kemampuan yang seseorang punya, dan kepercayaan bahwa ia dapat menyelesaikan suatu masalah. Diharapkan dengan self efficacy dapat membantu siswa mencapai pemahaman matematis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh self efficacy terhadap pemahaman matematis siswa pada materi persamaan garis lurus kelas VIII SMPN 1 Sukamakmur Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan jenis penelitian korelasional. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Sukamakmur dan sampelnya adalah salah satu dari tiga kelas VIII dengan teknik pengambilan sampel cluster random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan non tes berupa angket/kuesioner self efficacy dan tes berupa soal materi persamaan garis lurus. Sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu ada pengaruh self efficacy terhadap pemahaman matematis siswa pada materi persamaan garis lurus sebesar 55,9%. Sehingga diharapkan guru lebih memperhatikan self efficacy siswa karena self efficacy mempengaruhi pemahaman matematis siswa.

ABSTRACT Nya' Nadila Sabrina (2023). The Effect of Self-Efficacy on Students' Mathematical Understanding of Class VIII Straight Line Equations Material at SMPN 1 Sukamakmur. Self efficacy is one of the factors for students' low understanding of mathematics in Indonesia. Self-efficacy is self-confidence in the abilities that a person has, and the belief that he can solve a problem. It is hoped that self-efficacy can help students achieve mathematical understanding. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self-efficacy on students' mathematical understanding of straight-line equations for class VIII SMPN 1 Sukamakmur Aceh Besar. This study uses quantitative methods and correlational research types. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMPN 1 Sukamakmur and the sample was one of the three classes VIII using cluster random sampling technique. Data collection techniques with non-tests in the form of questionnaires / self-efficacy questionnaires and tests in the form of straight line equation material questions. While the data analysis technique uses simple linear regression. The research results obtained were that there was an effect of self-efficacy on students' mathematical understanding in straight-line equation material of 55.9%. So it is expected that teachers pay more attention to student self-efficacy because self-efficacy affects students' mathematical understanding.
