Model pembelajaran problem solving dan model problem based learning sama-sama merupakan model pembelajaran yang menekankan pada pemecahan masalah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan tingkat pemahaman konsep siswa pada pembelajaran fisika dengan menggunakan model problem solving dan model problem based learning. Model yang digunakan adalah model kuantitatif. Pendekatan yang dilakukan adalah pendekatan eksperimen dengan desain eksperimen semu. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Montasik. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Montasik. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel kelas dipilih oleh kelas X IPA 2 dan siswa X IPA 3. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu observasi, angket, dan tes. Berdasarkan hasil analisis observasi keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh dua pengamat diperoleh rata- rata persentase pada model problem solving adalah 83% dan pada model problem based learning adalah 85% termasuk kedalam kategori sangat baik, dan untuk data pemahaman konsep menggunakan N- Gain pada kelas eksperimen 1 rata-rata nilai pretest 28,5 dan posttest 70,5 serta nilai N-Gain 0,60 tergolong dalam kategori sedang, hasil respon siswa diperoleh yaitu 658 termasuk kategori tidak efektif. Sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen 2 diperoleh nilai rata-rata pretest 33,2 dan posttest 81 serta nilai N-Gain 0,72 tergolong dalam kategori tinggi didukung dengan hasil respon siswa 727 termasuk dalam kategori efektif, sehingga disimpulkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara model problem solving dan problem based learning terhadap pemahaman konsep pada pembelajaran fisika di SMA Negeri 1 Montasik.

The problem solving learning model and the problem based learning model are both learning models that emphasize problem solving. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in the level of students' understanding of concepts in physics learning by using problem solving models and problem based learning models. The model used is a quantitative model. The approach taken is an experimental approach with a quasi-experimental design. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Montasik. The research was carried out in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 school year. The research population was students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Montasik. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. The class sample was selected by class X Science 2 and students X Science 3. The instruments used were observation, questionnaires and tests. Based on the results of the observational analysis of the implementation of the learning model carried out by two observers, it was obtained that the average percentage in the problem solving model was 83% and in the problem based learning model was 85% included in the very good category, and for conceptual understanding data using N-Gain on experimental class 1 average pretest score of 28.5 and posttest 70.5 and the N-Gain value of 0.60 belongs to the medium category, the results of student responses obtained are 658 including the ineffective category. Whereas in the experimental class 2, the average pretest score was 33.2 and posttest 81 and the N-Gain value was 0.72 which was classified as high category supported by the results of 727 student responses included in the effective category, so it was concluded that there were significant differences between problem solving models. and problem based learning on understanding concepts in physics learning at SMA Negeri 1 Montasik.
