Abstract Name : YuliSafriana Student No. : 0906102050055 Study Program : English Education Title : The Impact of Chain Drill Technique in Students’ Speaking Aspects (An experimental study at second grade of SMKN 2 Banda Aceh). This study is conducted with the attempts that thewritercan proof the problem formulation in this research and focusing on quantitative research with true experimental study. Furthermore,this study is also carried out to view the impact of the implementation of chain drill technique as a communication strategy to help the learners cope with speaking aspects difficulties and also help the learners to express the intended purpose through speaking especially at second grade of SMKN 2 Banda Aceh. The writer took two classes as samples of the research, which are XI TGB as experimental class (EC) and XI TAV as control class (CC). The experimental class has significant improvement in speaking aspects. It showe by average score of students from 33 score on pretest to 68 on posttest in pronunciation, and on fluency aspect (39 score on pretest to 69 score on posttest), while the control class has slight increase in their score in vocabulary (42 score on pretest to 51 on posttest) and grammar aspect (39 to 57 on pretest to posttest) of speaking aspects. The mean score of EC for speaking aspects was 42.80 and 62.50 on posttest. The mean score of CC for speaking on pretest was 39.50 and posttest 45.90.Based on the research results and discussions, the writer concludes that the implementation of CDT can improve students’ aspects in English speaking ability.
