Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui serapan karbon pada vegetasi&#13;
mangrove jenis Rhizophora apiculata dan Rhizophora mucronata di Kota Banda&#13;
Aceh. Kegiatan penelitian ini dilakukan pada kawasan hutan mangrove Gampong&#13;
Jawa dan Lambaro Skep Kota Banda Aceh yang dimulai pada bulan Januari sampai&#13;
dengan Maret 2018, penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Kimia Laut Fakultas&#13;
Kelautan dan Perikanan Universitas Syiah Kuala. Metode yang digunakan pada&#13;
penelitian ini adalah metode destructive sampling. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa&#13;
jumlah serapan karbon pada mangrove jenis Rhizophora apiculata adalah 4033,33 g&#13;
CO&#13;
2&#13;
/ pohon dan jumlah serapan karbon pada  mangrove jenis Rhizophora mucronata&#13;
adalah 3888,36 g CO&#13;
2&#13;
/ pohon. Hasil perhitungan statistik  menggunakan uji t-test&#13;
memperlihatkan bahwa serapan karbon Rhizophora apiculata dan Rhizophora&#13;
mucronata tidak berbeda signifikan, dimana nilai p &gt; 0,05 (p= 0,33). Sedangkan&#13;
pada perbedaan antara stasiun juga memperlihatkan bahwa kedua stasiun tidak&#13;
berbeda signifikan, dengan nilai p &gt; 0,05 (p= 0,47). &#13;

ABSTRACT &#13;
The purpose of this study was to determine carbon uptake in the mangrove&#13;
vegetation of Rhizophora apiculata and Rhizophora mucronata in Banda Aceh. The&#13;
research was carried out in Gampong Jawa mangrove forest area and Lambaro Skep&#13;
Banda Aceh on January to March, 2018. This research was conducted at Marine&#13;
Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Syiah Kuala University. The&#13;
method used in this study was destructive sampling method. The results of the study&#13;
showed that the amount of carbon absorption by Rhizophora apiculata was 4033,33&#13;
g CO2 / tree and the amount of carbon uptake in the mangrove species Rhizophora&#13;
mucronata was 3888,36 g CO2 / tree. The results of statistical calculations using the&#13;
t-test showed that the carbon uptake of Rhizophora apiculata and Rhizophora&#13;
mucronata did not different significantly, where the value of p&gt; 0,05 (p = 0,33).&#13;
While the differences between stations also showed that the two stations were not&#13;
significantly different, with a value of p&gt; 0,05 (p = 0,47).&#13;
