Pembelajaran adalah suatu proses yang sistematik dimana setiap komponen saling
berpengaruh bagi keberhasilan pebelajar dalam proses pembelajaran. Hal ini berarti pebelajar
perlu berinteraksi dengan sumber-sumber belajar untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Salah
satu model pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman Ecological Citizenship adalah
model Project Citizen yaitu pembelajaran berbasis Portofolio. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk
mengembangkan materi ajar Ecological Citizenship yang dikembangkan melalui mata
pelajaran PPKn dengan model Project Citizen di Sekolah Menengah Pertama, menghasilkan
pedagogik yang tepat dan sesuai untuk dapat mendukung peningkatan kemampuan
Ecological Citizenship melalui pembelajaran PPKn dengan Model Project Citizen di Sekolah
Menengah Pertama (SMP). Penelitian ini didasarkan pada teori bahwa kewarganegaraan
ekologis melibatkan pemberdayaan orang untuk memiliki pengetahuan, keterampilan,dan
sikap yang diperlukan untuk mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai dan tujuan warga negara sehubungan
dengan lingkungan. Penelitian ini didasarkan pada teori bahwa strategi instuksional yang
digunakan dalam model ini, pada dasarnya bertolak dari strategi “Inguiry, Discovery,
Problem Solving, Research-Oriented,” yang dikemas dengan model “Project” John Dewey
dengan mengidentifikasi masalah, memilih masalah untuk dkaji, mengumpulkan
informasi,mengembangkan portofolio dan melakukan refleksi, sedangkan mengenai
Ecological Citizenship menggunakan teori Dobson. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan
kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and
Development (R&D).Pengumpulan data lewat pre-test dan post-test dengan menggunakan
test, angket, observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian pengembangan ini dengan
menggunakan Project Citizen kewarganegaraan sebagai pengembangan kompetensi
Ecological Citizenship siswa menunjukkan hasil yang baik. Analisis data menunjukkan
bahwa siswa dan guru merespon positif materi Ecological Citizenship dengan menggunakan
model Project Citizen

Learning is a systematic process in which each component influences the success of learners in the learning process. This implies that learners need to interact with various learning resources to achieve the intended learning objectives. One instructional model that can enhance students’ understanding of Ecological Citizenship is the Project Citizen model, which is portfolio-based learning. The purpose of this study is to develop Ecological Citizenship teaching materials implemented through Civic Education (PPKn) using the Project Citizen model at the junior high school level, and to produce appropriate pedagogical approaches to support the improvement of students’ Ecological Citizenship competencies through Civic Education learning using the Project Citizen model. This study is grounded in the theory that ecological citizenship involves empowering individuals with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to identify values and goals related to environmental responsibility. Furthermore, this study is based on the theoretical framework that the instructional strategies applied in this model derive from Inquiry, Discovery, Problem Solving, and Research-Oriented approaches, which are integrated into John Dewey’s Project based learning model. This includes identifying problems, selecting issues for study, gathering information, developing portfolios, and conducting reflection. The concept of Ecological Citizenship in this study refers to Dobson’s theory. This research employs both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The method used is Research and Development (R&D). Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, as well as tests, questionnaires, observations, and interviews. The results of this development research indicate that the implementation of the Project Citizen model in developing students’ Ecological Citizenship competencies shows positive outcomes. Data analysis reveals that both students and teachers responded positively to the Ecological Citizenship materials implemented using the Project Keywords: Ecological Citizenship, Civic Education, Project Citizen Model
