ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh usia calon legislatif terhadap
perilaku pemilih pada Pemilihan Umum 2024 di Kota Banda Aceh, khususnya dalam
konteks meningkatnya jumlah caleg muda namun masih rendahnya tingkat
keterpilihannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis
kausalitas. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner terhadap 100 responden yang dipilih
berdasarkan kriteria tertentu di sembilan kecamatan di Kota Banda Aceh dengan
mempertimbangkan proporsi jumlah penduduk. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori
perilaku pemilih dengan pendekatan sosiologis, psikologis, dan rasional. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usia caleg berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perilaku
pemilih, di mana caleg berusia di atas 35 tahun cenderung dinilai lebih positif, terutama
pada aspek intelektual dan sosial. Namun demikian, sebagian besar responden
menunjukkan kecenderungan memilih berdasarkan pendekatan rasional. Penelitian ini
memiliki keterbatasan pada jumlah responden dan penggunaan satu variabel utama,
sehingga belum sepenuhnya menggambarkan kompleksitas faktor yang memengaruhi
perilaku pemilih. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan implikasi praktis bagi caleg,
khususnya caleg muda, untuk meningkatkan kapasitas dan strategi komunikasi politik
guna memperoleh kepercayaan masyarakat. Selain itu, temuan ini menunjukkan
adanya pergeseran perilaku pemilih ke arah yang lebih rasional dalam menentukan
pilihan politik. Penelitian ini juga memberikan kontribusi empiris mengenai pengaruh
usia caleg terhadap perilaku pemilih pada konteks lokal di Kota Banda Aceh yang
masih terbatas dalam kajian sebelumnya.

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the influence of legislative candidates' age on voter behavior in the 2024 General Election in Banda Aceh City, particularly in the context of the increasing number of young candidates but still low election success rates. This study uses a quantitative approach with a causal type. Data were collected through questionnaires administered to 100 respondents selected based on specific criteria across nine districts in Banda Aceh City, taking into account the population proportion. This study employs voter behavior theory with sociological, psychological, and rational approaches. The results of the study indicate that the age of candidates significantly affects voter behavior, where candidates over 35 years old tend to be rated more positively, especially in intellectual and social aspects. Nonetheless, the majority of respondents show a tendency to vote based on a rational approach. This study has limitations in the number of respondents and the use of a single main variable, so it does not yet fully represent the complexity of factors influencing voter behavior. The results of this study provide practical implications for legislative candidates, especially young candidates, to enhance their capacity and political communication strategies to gain public trust. In addition, these findings indicate a shift in voter behavior towards a more rational direction in making political choices. This study also provides empirical contributions regarding the influence of the age of legislative candidates on voter behavior in the local context of Banda Aceh City, which has been limited in previous studies.
