Kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa belum berkembang secara optimal karena pembelajaran di kelas cenderung berorientasi pada pencapaian kognitif dan kurang memberikan ruang eksplorasi ide. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Project Based Learning terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan desain quasi-eksperimen dengan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas dua kelas X di SMAS Babul Maghfirah yang dipilih secara purposive sampling, masing-masing berjumlah 22 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui pemberian pretest dan posttest pada kelas eksperimen dan kontrol, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji N-gain dan indepenten sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai N-gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,72 termasuk kategori tinggi, sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,17 dalam kategori rendah. Nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 81,52 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol sebesar 64,39, serta hasil uji hipotesis menujukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelas. Pada kelas eksperimen, peningkatan tertinggi terjadi pada aspek orisinality (N-gain = 0,96) dan terendah pada aspek elaboration (N-gain = 0,53). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Project Based Learning berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa.

ABSTRACT Tjute Nanda Amelia. (2026). The Effect of Project Based Learning on the Improvement of Creative Thinking Skills in Energy Topics for Grade X Students at SMAS Babul Maghfirah. Undergraduate Thesis. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Syiah Kuala. Supervised by Dra. Elisa, M.Si. and Prof. Dr. Saminan, M.Pd. Students' creative thinking skills have not developed because classroom learning tends to focus on cognitive achievement and provides limited opportunities for ide exploration. This study aims to determine the influence of the Project-Based Learning model on improving students' creative thinking skills. This research employed a quasi-experimental design using the nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of two Grade x classes at SMAS Babul Maghfirah selected through purposive sampling, with 22 students in each class. Data were collected through pretest and posttest in both experimental and control classes,and then analyzed using the N-gain test and independent sample t-test. The results showed that the N-gain score of the experimental class was 0.72, categorized as high, while the control class obtained 0,17, categorized as low. The average posttest score of the experimental class 81.52 was higher than that of the control class 64.39, and the hypothesis testing indicated a significant difference between the two classes. In the experimental class, the highest improvement occurred in the orisinality aspect (N-gain = 0,96), while the lowest improvement occurred elaboration aspect (N-gain = 0,53). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Project-Based Learning model has a positive effect on improving students’ creative thinking skills.
