Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh perbedaan kemampuan membaca permulaan peserta didik kelas i sd negeri lampeuneurut aceh besar, di mana sebagian peserta didik telah membaca dengan lancar, sementara sebagian lainnya masih berada pada tahap membaca kata, suku kata, atau mengenal huruf. kondisi tersebut menunjukkan perlunya penggunaan media dan model pembelajaran yang sesuai untuk mendukung kemampuan serta meningkatkan keaktifan peserta didik. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan aktivitas peserta didik dan hasil tes membaca permulaan melalui penggunaan media spinning wheel yang terintegrasi dengan model pembelajaran teams games tournament (tgt). penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas i sd negeri lampeuneurut aceh besar. teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan tes membaca permulaan, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media spinning wheel terintegrasi model tgt mampu meningkatkan aktivitas peserta didik serta menunjukkan perkembangan positif pada aspek ketepatan membaca, lafal, intonasi, kelancaran, dan kejelasan suara. dengan demikian, media dan model pembelajaran tersebut memberikan dampak positif terhadap proses dan hasil pembelajaran membaca permulaan.



Abstract

This research was motivated by differences in the beginning reading abilities of first-grade students at SD Negeri Lampeuneurut Aceh Besar, where some students were able to read fluently while others were still at the stage of reading words, syllables, or recognizing letters. This condition indicates the need for appropriate instructional media and learning models to support students’ abilities and increase their participation in beginning reading instruction. This study aimed to describe students’ learning activities and the results of beginning reading tests through the use of spinning wheel media integrated with the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The subjects of the study were first-grade students of SD Negeri Lampeuneurut Aceh Besar. Data were collected through observation and beginning reading tests, and were analyzed descriptively using qualitative analysis. The results showed that the use of spinning wheel media integrated with the TGT model was able to increase students’ learning activities and demonstrated positive development in aspects of reading accuracy, pronunciation, intonation, fluency, and voice clarity. Therefore, the media and learning model had a positive impact on both the process and outcomes of beginning reading instruction.
