Pemilih pemula merupakan kelompok pemilih yang baru pertama kali menggunakan hak pilihnya dan memiliki karakteristik perilaku politik yang masih berkembang. perilaku pemilih pemula dalam partisipasi politik dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, antara lain faktor psikologis, sosiologis dan rasional. pada pemilu serentak tahun 2024, tingkat partisipasi politik mencapai 81,48% dimana sebagian pemilih merupakan pemilih pemula. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perilaku pemilih pemula terhadap partisipasi politik pada pemilu serentak 2024 di kota banda aceh. penelitian ini menggunakan teori perilaku pemilih pemula dari dennis kavanagh serta teori partisipasi politik dari herbert mc closky. metode penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik survei melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada responden. sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 100 orang yang dipilih berdasarkan rumus slovin. data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis melalui uji validitas, reabilitas, analisis regresi sederhana serta uji t. hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh perilaku pemilih pemula terhadap partisipasi politik pada pemilu 2024, meskipun pengaruh tersebut tergolong relatif kecil yakni dengan nilai koefisien 32,2%. temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan psikologis merupakan faktor paling dominan dalam mendorong partisipasi politik pemilih pemula. oleh karena itu, diharapkan agar pemilih pemula dapat membangun sikap yang lebih rasional dalam menerima informasi politik dan memperluas pengetahuan, agar kualitas partisipasi politik saat pemilu semakin lebih baik. kata kunci : perilaku pemilih, pemilih pemula, pemilu

First time voters are a group of voters exercising their right to vote for the first time and possess evolving political behavior characteristic. The behavior of first time voters in political participation is influenced by various factors. In the 2024 simultaneous elections, the political participation rate reached 81,48%, where a significant portion of voters were first time voters. This study aims to determine the influence of first time voter behavior on political participation in the 2024 simultaneous elections in Banda Aceh City. This research utilizes the theory of first time vote behavior by Dennis Kavanagh and theory of political participation by Herbert Mcclosky. The research method employs a quantitative approach with survey techniques conducted through the distribution of questionnaires to repondents. The sample in this study consisted of 100 individuals selected based on the slovin formula. The data obtained were then analyzed through validity tests, reability tests, simple regression analysis, and t-tests. The results revealed that there is an influence of first time voter behavior on political participation in 2024 elections, although the influence is classified as relatively small, with a coefficient value of 32,2%. These findings indicate that the psychological approach is the most dominant factor in driving the political participation of first time voters. Therefore, it is expected that first time voters can develop a more rational attitude in receiving political information and expanding their knowledge, so that the quality of political participation during elections continues to improve.
