Mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi perlu dilakukan segera agar tidak berkelanjutan pada materi yang lain. tujuan penelitian dalam penelitian ini yaitu 1) untuk mengetahui tingkat miskonsepsi pada siswa sman 11 dengan menggunakan soal pilihan ganda dalam materi hukum newton; 2) untuk mengetahui tingkat miskonsepsi pada siswa sman 11 dengan menggunakan soal uraian dalam materi hukum newton; 3) untuk mengetahui konsep apa saja yang miskosepsi oleh siswa pada materi hukum newton. penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, populasi dalam penelitian ini seluruh siswa kelas xi ipa sman 11 dengan mengambil sampel seluruh siswa kelas xi ipa sman 11 melalui teknik total sampling. pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tiga instrumen yaitu tes pilihan ganda (three tier test), tes uraian, dan tes lisan berupa wawancara kemudian analisis data dilakukan dengan mencari presetase miskonsepsi. berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa 1) rata-rata presentase miskonsepsi yang dialami siswa dalam materi hukum newton pada tes pilihan ganda termasuk katagori sedang; 2) rata-rata presentase miskonsepsi yang dialami siswa dalam materi hukum newton pada tes uraian termasuk katagori rendah; 3) berdasarkan indikator sub konsep siswa mengalami miskonsepsi tertinggi pada hukum 3 newton dan miskonsepsi terendah pada konsep macam-macam gaya yang bekerja pada bidang datar. kata kunci: miskonsepsi, tes pilihan ganda, tes uraian, tes lisan, hukum newton

Identifying misconceptions need to be done, so they are not continued in other material. This study aims to determine the level of misconceptions in SMAN 11 students by using multiple choice questions and essay tests to find out what concepts students misconceive in Newton's Law material. This research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach, the population in this study were all students of class XI IPA SMAN 11 by taking a sample of all students of class XI IPA SMAN 11 through a total sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using three instruments, namely multiple choice tests (three-tier tests), essay tests, and oral tests in the form of interviews. The data analysis was carried out by looking for preset misconceptions. Based on the results of the study, it is known that 1) The average percentage of misconceptions experienced by students in Newton's law material on multiple-choice tests is in the moderate category; 2) The average percentage of misconceptions experienced by students in Newton's law material on the description test is in a low category; 3) Based on the sub-concept indicators, students experience the highest misconceptions about Newton's 3rd law and the lowest misconceptions about the concept of various forces acting on a flat plane.
