Salah satu penyebab penyakit yang sering menyerang burung adalah parasit gastrointestinal. parasit ini penting dikendalikan untuk menjaga kesehatan burung, karena dapat meganggu kesehatan burung seperti diare, enteritis, kurus, anemia, masalah reproduksi dan bahkan kematian burung. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeteksi keberadaan dan jenis parasit gastrointestinal pada berbagai spesies burung yang dipelihara di taman rusa kabupaten aceh besar. penelitian ini menggunakan metode apung, metode sedimentasi, metode formol eter, dan metode modifed zhiel-neelsen. hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan dari 28 jenis burung, 19 jenis burung terinfeksi parasit gastrointestinal seperti cacing nematoda, cestoda dan trematoda serta protozoa. parasit tersebut merupakan cacing dari kelas nematoda seperti heterakis sp., capillaria sp., trichuris sp., strongyloides sp., kelas cestoda seperti hymenolepsis sp., dan trematoda seperti neodiplostomum sp., serta protozoa gastrointestinal seperti eimeria sp. dan isospora sp. kata kunci: burung, parasit gastrointestinal, taman rusa kabupaten aceh besar

One of the most common diseases that affects birds is gastrointestinal parasites. These parasites are important to be controlled as they can cause health problem for birds such as diarrhea, enteritis, malnourished, anemia, reproductive problems, and even bird death. The research is aimed to detect the presence and varieties of gastrointestinal parasites in various bird species kept in deer park of Aceh Besar District. The research uses the floatation method, sedimentation method, formol ether method, and modified Zhiel-neelsen method. The results of this study showed that of the 28 bird species, 19 bird species were infected by gastrointestinal parasites. The parasites were belong to the class of nematodes, Cestodes, Trematodes and Protozoa. It is concluded that the birds were infected by Nematodes such as Heterakis sp., Capillaria sp., Trichuris sp., Strongyloides sp., Cestode like Hymenolepsis sp., and Trematode such as Neodiplostomum sp., as well as gastrointestinal protozoa such as Eimeria sp. and Isospora sp.
